Des Traynor - Senior Analyst

Des Traynor joined the iQ team in April 2007 as a Usability Analyst. Des is a passionate advocate of useful, usable and effective web technologies, and has extensive web development and usability analysis experience.

Des has excellent programming skills in a variety of languages and technologies, including CSS, XHTML, Perl/PHP/Python and Ruby. He is also an accomplished researcher, with extensive experience in a variety of advanced qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methods. He has a strong interest in applying scientific rigour to usability analysis, through the creation of practical metrics by which user experience can be measured and evaluated.

Prior to joining iQ Content, Des worked as a Lecturer in Computer Science at NUI Maynooth, while also running his own start-up company Bigulo.com, a search tool for social networks.

Des has a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science & Software Engineering from NUI Maynooth, and is currently completing his PhD, also from Maynooth, on techniques for measuring the programming ability of students.
