iQ Content joins the 9 Rules Network

9 Rules Network

Earlier today, I was delighted to receive a belated Christmas present. I received an email from Tyme White inviting us to join the 9 rules network. Over the Christmas break, I had missed the announcement of new additions on the 9 rules blog

What is the 9 Rules Network?

The 9 Rules network is a blogging network with a community of the best written blogs on a variety of topics. We’ll be writing mainly on design and technology.

Why we joined the 9 Rules Network?

Obviously, our traffic could spike considerably (if we write anything worthwhile) but as we don’t monetise our traffic it’s not our motivation for joining. We joined for three main reasons:

  1. To increase our exposure by syndicating our content on 9rules.com. Hopefully, this will bring new readers to our iQ Blog. We really enjoy writing for the web, and want to reach out to as wide an audience as possible.
  2. To keep us on our toes. With potentially greater exposure, comes greater responsibility to write better content for our audience. We’re hoping this added pressure will spur us on to write better researched, better informed and more interesting articles on the things that interest us and, more importantly, you.
  3. Lastly, we want to learn from the other 9 Rules members. Take some of the current members, particletree.com, Snook.ca, Functioning Form, 456 Berea Street, Garrett Dimon, all blogs that I regularly subscribe to independently of 9 rules. We’re in good company if we’re mentioned in the same breath as any of these guys, so we’re honoured to be part of the network and hope that we can contribute some great content to it.

Wait a second, are there actually 9 rules?

Sort of, according to the 9 Rules about page, the 9 rules for living are:

  1. Love what you do.
  2. Never stop learning.
  3. Form works with function.
  4. Simple is beautiful.
  5. Work hard, play hard.
  6. You get what you pay for.
  7. When you talk, we listen.
  8. Must constantly improve.
  9. Respect your inspiration.

We tend to agree.
