Aisling Blake, Radical

Aisling is Commercial Director in Radical, with responsibility for the service delivery of all client Search Marketing campaigns. Having previously managed both the online and offline marketing activities for a technology company, Aisling moved to specialise in the digital arena. With key experience in the North American and European markets, Aisling and her team deliver innovative and cutting-edge Search Marketing campaigns for a broad spectrum of clients.

Aisling has an honors degree from University College Dublin in International Commerce and French, an honors Masters in Marketing Practice from Smurfit Business School and has recently completed an Advanced Diploma in Management Practice with the University of Ulster.

Aisling will be presenting Search Engine Marketing (SEM) 101.

Belén Barros Pena

Belén is an interaction designer with iQ Content, the leading usability, accessibility and content consultancy dedicated to creating better websites for everyone.

Belén came to iQ Content from the Department of Meetings of the International League Against Epilepsy, where she took care of all conference websites and web applications. In her previous life as a Spaniard, she worked as a TV scriptwriter.

She has a degree in Audiovisual Journalism from the University of Navarra in Spain, and is currently working towards her honours degree in Information Technology from DIT.

Belén will be presenting Mobile Web.

Brian Donohue

Brian is a usability expert who has long-standing experience in finding practical answers to client problems. He has worked with several organisations (including Vodafone, permanentTSB, and the Department of Social and Family Affairs) to help strategise and implement successful online self-service projects.

As part of these projects, Brian has worked at the high level of formulating KPI rationales for projects, at the customer research level with task such as user testing, online surveys, online feedback systems, and at the implementation level of designing FAQ sections and online self-service applications.

Brian will be presenting Driving Self Service Online.

Ciarán Harris

Ciaran is one of iQ Content's web experts, working on a wide range of web projects. But he has plied his trade as a Game Designer and Multimedia expert in the Nokia Research Center in Finland. Before which he spent many long days working in the darkened sound studios of Windmill Lane Pictures, one of Ireland's largest film companies. Here he was exposed to many aspects of film, tv & radio production, as well as directly working on sound design & audio post production for many short films, documentaries, tv programs, and thousands of radio adverts.

Ciarán will be presenting Creating Killer Video Content.

Clodagh Kelly

Clodagh is a web expert with in-depth skills in Web Analytics. She helps companies use web analytics to monitor visitor behaviour, measure the website performance and create the best possible user experience.

Before joining iQ Content Clodagh worked with the online reservations company Book Now, where she managed content and SEO efforts for a number of successful websites. Since joining iQ Content, Clodagh has worked on analytics, design and training projects for a range of clients including Vodafone, ESB and The National Council for the Blind in Ireland.

Clodagh will be presenting Web Analytics 101.

Colin Bentley

Colin is an interaction designer with iQ Content. He is the principle designer of a number of web applications to support online self-service in the telecoms and social networking industries, creating compelling user experiences and demystifying online customer support. He has also been involved in the creation and execution of promotional launch campaigns to support the uptake of new online self-service initiatives.

Prior to iQ Colin was a business analyst for a dental software company, designing health systems to support medical practitioners during patient care.

Colin will be presenting Driving Self Service Online.

Conor O'Sullivan

Conor is a Lead Analyst with iQ Content with a wide breadth of expertise with User Experience Design methodologies. He has worked with numerous organisations over the course of his career - Cisco Systems, Corvil Networks, Guinness, Avaya, An Post and Eircom to name but a few, developing everything from portal information architectures to complex web based application interfaces.

Conor is a well rounded UX designer proficient in all the all requisite fundamentals - Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Usability Engineering, Visual Design and Prototype Engineering. He also has extensive experience as a product manager having taken several web based products from early idea stage to general availability through detailed market and competitor analysis, user research and the development of product use cases, roadmaps and feature requirements.

Conor will be presenting Information Architecture that works.

Des Traynor, Contrast.ie

Des is the User Experience Lead at Contrast, a web applications company based in Dublin. Des is a well-known and passionate advocate of useful, usable and effective web applications. He is an accomplished researcher and has a strong interest in applying scientific rigour to usability analysis. In Contrast, Des is responsible for user research and interface design for all Contrast web applications, along with managing the development of web applications for their clients.

Before Contrast, Des worked with iQ Content where he led successful projects analysing and re-designing web applications for companies such as ESB, Boylesports, Eircom, and Dublin City Council. Previously Des also worked as a Lecturer in Computer Science at NUI Maynooth.

Des will be presenting Killer Web Applications.

Elizabeth McGuane

Elizabeth is iQ Content’s in-house journalist and content expert. Before joining us, Elizabeth worked for many years at the Sunday Business Post where she covered both business stories and the arts. She still continues to regularly for the Post and several other national newspapers. With us she has developed web writing training for our largest corporate clients including Hibernian and more.

Elizabeth will be presenting Usable Language and Writing for the Web 202.

Fabrizio Menghini Calderón

Fabrizio Menghini Calderón joined the iQ team in April 2007 as a Senior Technical Analyst, with more than five years of experience in standards-based development and technical implementation of websites and web applications. Fabrizio is experienced in a wide range of programming languages and technologies: Assembler, C/C++, Objective-C, CSS, XHTML, PHP, MySQL, Oracle, GIS, JavaScript, DOM.

Prior to joining iQ Content, Fabrizio worked with Gubbernet s.r.l., one of Italy's leading web consultancies, where he headed up all development work, while also managing project delivery for a variety of high profile clients including the Ministry of Ecology, Telecom Italia Mobile and Datamat. Fabrizio also worked as a Lecturer in the University of Rome, conducting research on the usability and accessibility of mobile applications.

Fabrizio speaks fluent Italian, Spanish and English and has a particular interest in Japanese culture (mangas and animation) and good wines.

Fabrizio will be presenting Rapid Interface Development.

John Wood

John has been consulting on usability and designing software for about twelve years. He built his expertise in the field on a strong foundation in training, technical writing and business analysis. He has added expertise in user research, user testing, information architecture, and interaction design to this skill set and has amassed extensive practical experience of all of these techniques.

Prior to joining iQ Content, John worked as a free lance consultant to organisations in industries as diverse as banking and software development tools. Subsequently, he worked as a researcher at the National Council for the Blind, where he designed and user tested assistive technologies involving haptic user interfaces. While at NCBI, John helped found the Centre for Inclusive Technology (CFIT).

At iQ Content over the past four years, John has delivered successful design projects to clients in both the private and public sectors, involving work on web sites, web applications and desktop software. He also continues to drive the evolution of the tools and techniques iQ Content use in their work.

John will be presenting Future Now.

Lars Hemming Jorgensen, Chief Creative Officer, Story Worldwide

Regular appearances on BBC's 7 O'Clock News, TagesThema on ARD German TV and The Mathew Bannister show on FiveLive has cemented Lars' position as one of the authorities of the brand and e-commerce industry. He regularly contributes to the design style magazines Computer Arts, Design Week, Digit, plus adland's journal, Campaign.

Lars has controlled countless high profile and extremely successful branding and e-commerce projects for dynamic companies such as Agent Provocateur, Bang & Olufsen, Harrods, ILORI, Lexus, MTV, E*TRADE and Johnson & Johnson.

Lars Hemming Jorgensen came to London via a series of international stopovers and schools, from Iran, London, Jakarta, Luxembourg, Copenhagen, Brussels and finally London again. After studying psychology in Brussels, England's creative environment called, and Lars came to work in design and marketing. Following an MA at the prestigious Hypermedia Research Centre and after meeting his business partner, Jim Boulton, he established Large which grew to become one of Europe's hottest digital agencies.

In 2007 merged with Story Worldwide and Lars was appointed Chief Creative Officer for the group responsible for all creative of the group's six offices. Story is the world's leading Post-Advertising agency behind some of the most beautiful and successful brands in the world.

Lars is a Fellow and Course Director of The Chartered Institute of Marketing and The Chartered Society of Designers, runs The London eBusiness Club Masterclasses, sits on the board of Scandinavian fashion label Kudo and even performs on the London stand-up circuit - although with slightly different material.

Lars will be presenting Future Now.

Morgan McKeagney

Morgan is a recognised expert in web strategy, content management, e-Government and user experience, subjects on which he has written and presented extensively. He's also a Director of the Irish Internet Association - Ireland's leading representative body for the internet industry.

Morgan co-founded iQ Content in July 2001. He has led many high-profile projects for clients such Vodafone, Deloitte and Global Voice. He has also been instrumental in defining the company's business strategy, expansion and day-to-day operations.

Morgan will be presenting Kick Start Your Web Strategy.

Niamh Phelan

Niamh is the primary Web Analytics consultant with iQ Content, the leading usability, accessibility and content consultancy dedicated to creating better websites for everyone.

Niamh came to IQ Content from Hibernian Insurance, where she developed her expertise in business intelligence, later specialising in web analytics with a view to driving evidence based changes on websites. Her role as an analyst in iQ Content focuses primarily on web analytics, allowing her combine her Business Intelligence and E-commerce interests.

In 2007, Niamh achieved First Class Honours in the Management Science Masters (MMgtSc.) in the Michael Smurfit Business School, UCD. Her dissertation, entitled "The application of Decision Science techniques to E-commerce Optimisation", was awarded the Perry Prize for most innovative dissertation proposal in 2007. The completed research was also awarded the Perry Prize for best dissertation in Management Science. Niamh also holds a BSc. (Hons.) in Computer Science from UCD.

Paul Fitzsimons

Paul is a longstanding expert in website analysis and review. As overall project manager in iQ Content, he has led a great number of out most successful online developments. This includes usability and design engagements for Vodafone, Dublin City Council and UCD. In support of this, Paul’s experience in analysing and modelling website gives him an excellent basis for advising you on health checking your site.

Paul will be presenting Website Healthcheck.

Peter McKenna

Peter joined iQ Content in April 2008 as a Technical Analyst. Prior to joining iQ Content, Peter worked as the Lead Developer for a Dublin based graphic design and development studio. He worked with many large consumer and corporate clients such as Budget Travel, Douglas Newman Good, Coolmore and Cadbury's, helping them deliver standards compliant and accessible websites.

Since joining iQ Content, Peter has worked with eircom, Vodafone, Eirgrid, and ESB. Peter holds a BA (Hons.) in Information and Communications Technology from Trinity College Dublin.

Peter will be presenting Mobile Web.

Randall Snare

Randall joins the iQ content team, previously working both as a freelance journalist for publications such as The Onion and the Dubliner, and as a web producer for Conde Nast, where she produced relaunches of the online magazines Glamour, Gourmet, and Self. She writes and edits content for such clients as Engineers Ireland and Permanent tsb. She also trains clients and potential clients in writing for the web. She is co-developing the new iQ publications department, as well as editing the iQ blog.

Randall will be presenting Usable Language and Writing for the Web 101.

Ruairi Galavan

Ruairi is a usability analyst and designer. He initially joined the iQ Content team as an intern, as part of his Msc in Human Centred Systems. After graduating from City University London with distinction, he returned to iQ Content as a full time usability analyst. Ruairi is an expert in a range of usability research techniques, including user testing and expert reviews. Ruairi has skills in video and music production and has recently produced a music video and documentary on the music industry in Ireland.

Ruairi will be presenting Creating Killer Video Content.

Shane Diffily

Shane is a recognised expert in website governance and author of ‘The Website Manager's Handbook’ (ISBN 978-1-4116-8529-1). This book contains practical solutions for solving the challenges of site management and has been described by respected commentator Gerry McGovern as "very clear and well written…someone managing - particularly a large website - would find it genuinely useful".

A number of articles by Shane about web governance have been also published by the popular design journal, Alistapart.com. In addition, many other case studies and features about the web, management and technology authored by Shane appear on his personal website and in The Irish Times "Business2000".

Shane will be presenting Practical Web Governance, Social Networking for Profit and Web Content Strategy.

Shenda Loughnane, Managing Director, ICAN

Shenda Loughnane is Managing Director of ICAN, Ireland's leading interactive advertising agency. Shenda has over 15 year experience in both traditional and Interactive advertising. She began her career as a media planner buyer at Zenithmedia and Euro RSCG in London before heading to Eastern Europe, where she was responsible for setting up Zenithmedia in the Czech and Slovak Republics. She returned to Dublin in 1997 to run the media department of CDP Advertising, before joining ICAN in 1998.

Shenda will be presenting Online Advertising.
